Following her father's foot steps, Doņa Nohemy Scarpetta de Espindola has transformed the Institute into what many may call the best institution for children in the world.

Better known as Mama Nohemy, the Director's life has been completely devoted to the life of hundred's of orphan children for over 28 years.

At 5:00am on a Saturday morning, we can find this 71 year old lady at the town's market, doing the inmense task of grocery shopping: "The people know me and offer me the best deals for my children," she explains, when asked why she won't delegate this task
to her staff.

Or she may be at her office, managing the day to day operations. But no matter what, you will find her sitting on the floor playing with one of her toddlers, or soothingly bathing a three month old baby who happens to be afraid of the water.

Mama Nohemy with childWhen a child arrives in a near death situation, Doņa Nohemy's schedule has no limits. She will mother the child until he recuperates as you can see in the picture to the left. In the picture to the right, you can see the same child back to health after a few weeks in the constant care of "Mama" Nohemy.

Doņa Nohemy welcomes you to visit her home and experience the love, peace and organization of which she is so very proud.
